Why you should play Rage 2
Set to release on May 14, 2019, Rage 2 is a first-person shooter video game which is developed by Avalanche Studios and id Software, and published by Bethesda Softworks. Since it has been seven years since the first installment of the game was launched, there is a lot of excitement amongst fans of the game, as well as critic.
Besides, with the mostly positive reviews and accolades that Rage received when it first came out, expectations are high for its successor. The game will be available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 upon release.
After an asteroid hit the earth, dangerous mutants have inhabited the earth, with a majority of the human population dead. Only a dreary wasteland is left behind, and a group who calls themselves the Authority declares themselves as the new military power. The Authority is hunting for nano-technology to help them gain more power, making Walker, the role the player assumes, their main target. Walker is one of the last surviving Rangers.
Thirty years following the events of the first game, Rage 2 is set in the year 2165. Humans have managed to heal the world from the grim effects of the asteroid hit, and have turned some areas of the Wasteland into lush, green jungles and wetlands. Trade is also steadily growing. However, the violence of the old world can still be found, and gangs are attacking these new biomes to gain control of their resources. The Authority has returned to power, taking strict actions against those who do not follow their rules and regulations.
Walker journeys through the Wasteland to seek vengeance and end the Authority’s oppressive rule. Rage 2 will see both old and new characters. Some of these old characters include John Marshall, Loosum Hagar, and Antonin Kvasir.
Rage 2 is a single player, first-person shooter video game. As a player, you can choose some of the attributes of Walker – the character you take control of in the game. This includes Walker’s gender the clothes and even skills. Walker can make use of several tools and firearms to fight enemies, and can even drive around trucks, buggies as well as gyrocopters thanks to the game’s feature of vehicular combat.
When you collect enough energy, you can boost Walker’s skills using Nanotrite based powers, which allow you to activate a mode known as Overdrive. In Overdrive mode, the guns cause more damage, Walker heals much faster, combat efficiency is increased, and enemies lose their energy more rapidly – all of which make it easier for the player to get rid of their enemies.
One of the most exciting elements from the first game that will make a return is the Wingstick, which will now have enhanced tracking ability. Additionally, players will have the option of being able to customize vehicles to a greater extent. The great thing about Rage 2 is that a Wasteland is a huge place, so there is a ton of space to explore.
Come Mat 14 and gamers will surely have something to keep them hooked to their screens for the entire day.
