When we talk about role-playing video games, also known as RPGs, the list goes on and on. 2019 holds a lot for gamers. From enhanced versions of previously released games to new games from indie developers, there’s a trove of games set to be released this year.
So, gamers, here are the games you should be looking forward to in 2019:
- YIIK: A Post-Modern RPG (Release date: 17/01/2019)
This Japanese-style RPG is surreal to the core, requiring players to trace a missing woman, who disappeared from an elevator of a building on the onset of the 21st century. From dungeon explorations to turn-based combat systems, you can find a couple of engrossing aspects in its gameplay. Realistic graphics and tactical playing-style make YIIK the best pick for savvy role-playing game lovers. The game is set to release on Switch, PS4, and PC on January 17.
- Kingdom Hearts III (Release date: 29/01/2019)
Kingdom Hearts II was released in 2005; its successor is all set to become the first console release since then. This installation closes the saga of Dark Seeker with Sora coming back as the primary character of the game. Disney characters like Goofy and Donald Duck and many Pixar characters accompany him on his journey. You will also see a range of minigames that reminisce Mickey Mouse cartoons. The game is coming to PS4 and Xbox One on January 29.
- Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord (Release Date: TBA)
This game is the sequel to the popular Mount & Blade game lineup, which was successful in blending action with strategy and role-playing elements. A brainchild of Turkish developer TaleWorlds, this game takes you to the dark and bleak medieval era, bounding you to adapt to that reality. Freedom of action and open-world gameplay make this game play-worthy. The two gameplay layers are somewhat similar to its predecessor’s; one is a strategic layer, while the other is an action layer. Both layers offer a wide range of combat paraphernalia, which you can use in both first and third-person player modes.
- Cyberpunk 2077 (Release Date: Q4 2019)
If you fancy sci-fi RPG, this game, which is based on the tabletop version of the same name, should be on your list. The game takes you to 2077, a world noted by its technological advancements but the extremely corrupt atmosphere. Set in Night City, you are likely to discover a couple of ominous secrets as you progress through the open-world of the game. At the same time, dialogues and multi-threaded narrative of the game will put you in situations where you have to make tough moral choices. You can read more information about Cyberpunk 2077 here!
