Death Stranding is an action game created by Kojima Productions. This is the first game to come from director Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions after they parted ways with Konami in 2015. The game’s title is a ready reference to the cetacean stranding phenomenon.

Actors Mads Mikkelsen, Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, Tommie Earl Jenkins, Troy Baker, Margaret Qualley, and Lindsay Wagner delivered 3D scanning, motion capture, and vocal performances. Also, film directors Nicolas Winding Refn and Guillermo del Toro feature in the game.

Here’s what you should know about Death Standing:

Death Stranding is an open-world game that also includes multiplayer functions. You can compare this game to Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots or Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, both of which embodied the best of the stealth game genre.

Death Stranding is most reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, the Cold War jungle adventure released in 2004. This game was the last Metal Gear Solid lineup focused on inhabiting an environment, occupying it with out-of-the-world characters, and leveraging wild mechanical ideas to move ahead in a gripping plot.

Death Stranding puts you in the shoes in Sam Bridges, a baggage carrier for an organization called Bridges. You will be tasked to deliver cargo to many abandoned cities named KNOTs.

The organization, considering your performance, will evaluate you, and your primary foes will be outwardly creatures. These are called “beached things” (BT) and MULE, which is a cult of porters who loot other porters and deliver the cargo themselves.

A rain called “timefall” surrounds Beached Things—something that’s capable of speeding the passage of time. It can cause severe damage to your armor and cargo since it deteriorates or ages whatever comes its way.

Although invisible, Sam can sense Beached Things if he happens to be within the “black timefall.” This starts a robotic called an Odradek, which directs Sam towards the direction of BTs.

If you are by chance consumed by a Beached Thing, it leads to a cataclysm called “voidout,” which destroys the area affected with a massive crater once and for all. As you keep adding KNOTs to the Chiral Network, you can use terminals and blueprints to create consumable items and structures.

Notably, you can do so just like 3D printing (including boots, ropes, and power generators for charging battery-powered equipment), while other players can place structures and notes in the game’s world through online functionality, and recover lost cargo to deliver to the right destination.

Death Stranding comes with groundbreaking visuals to create a splendid world. There’s a fantastic atmosphere when you peak a great view. When the story progression, setting, and music combine, Death Stranding creates a pleasant mood.
