Ghost Recon Breakpoint: What to Expect?

Set for a worldwide release on October 4, 2019, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is an online shooter video game that is developed and published by Ubisoft. Being the eleventh installment in the widely popular Tom Clancy Recon franchise, the game is highly anticipated by the gaming community.

Besides, the considering that its predecessor Ghost Recon Wildlands, which was released two years ago, has been extensively acclaimed, hopes are high for Breakpoint. Ubisoft has expanded the team to more than 1,000 developers, all of whom are working to bring ambitious plans for the follow-up. Let’s see what is in store for Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

Shift from real settings to more fantasy-based settings

Previous installments of Ghost Recon have always been set in real-life locations such as Africa, Eastern Europe, the U.S border, and South America. However, with Ghost Recon Breakpoint, things are taking a turn, and special operatives will be placed in a fictitious island known as Auroa. This is a make-believe island located in the Pacific Ocean that has jungles, volcanos, beaches as well as snowy mountain peaks.

Auros is where Skell Technology is located, a company that works with A.I and drones and mysteriously lost all contact with the outside world. Nomad’s Ghost team is sent here to investigate what happened.

Injuries are now more damaging

In Ghost Recon Breakpoint, if you take too much injury, then you can contract a semi-permanent injury which may affect your aim, movement speed, and other abilities, depending on the severity of the injury. You may have to run slower if you are shot in the arm, or if you may have to drag your injured leg or even crawl on the ground. It’s interesting that you can also get injured from accidents such as falls and tumbles.

Till now, there have been no releases on whether specific actions will result in certain injuries, or how you can get injured. But you can fix these injuries yourself too.

New enemies

Ghost Recon Breakpoint will bring about new enemy archetypes, unlike Wildlands which did not have many varieties of enemies. With the new installment, you can expect car-sized drones to attack you, or heavies with miniguns shooting at you. Additionally, you will also have to face a group of people known as Wolves. Wolves are former Ghosts, so they are perhaps, among the most dangerous enemies in the battlefield.

Players now have dialogue options

Just like it did in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Ubisoft will be rolling out dialogue options with Ghost Recon Breakpoint. During mid-mission cut scenes, players will have the option of branching out dialogue trees from the range of options given. However, as of now, it is not clear whether these dialogue options will affect the course of the mission if players select different responses.

Another noteworthy feature is that after considering community feedback, Ubisoft has decided to make the game more realistic, especially when it comes to combat tactics. This will change the gameplay, much to the thrill and excitement of fans. And it will be on Voidu!
